Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. Part of Mind’s information offer is a range of online legal rights guides covering legal areas relevant to our beneficiaries. These are drafted by our in house lawyers and influenced by those with lived experience. In 2016/17 these guides were accessed over 400,000 times. They can be found here: www.mind.org.uk/information-support/legal-rights/
At present Mind does not have any legal guides on housing. Given the link between poor mental health and housing issues, and to support anticipated campaigning activity, we are looking to develop a product to give legal guidance on the housing issues most commonly encountered by people with mental health problems. This is likely to include eviction, homelessness, social housing allocations and disrepair.
We are looking for someone to help us scope and draft this guide. Our lawyers do not have significant housing experience and so we need someone with expertise in the relevant areas.
