BPP’s Enterprise Legal Advice Clinic provides startups and small enterprises with free student-led written legal advice on a diverse range of commercial issues from setting up a business, protecting intellectual property, company procedures, commercial property to disputes with consumers or suppliers.
BPP are looking for qualified solicitors to supervise its Enterprise Clinic appointments which are conducted by its Student Advisors. The Enterprise Clinic assists start ups and small businesses by giving free commercial legal advice to those that cannot afford legal assistance. Volunteer solicitors will supervise the client appointment and review the draft letter of advice produced by the student advisors. No advice is given during the client appointment.
Volunteers will attend the Manchester office on a Thursday evening between 5:30 to 7pm to supervise the clinic appointment. Then, over a period of two weeks, the volunteer solicitor will review the student advisors’ draft letter of advice and ensure it is suitable to be sent to the client. Reviewing the draft letter will take approximately 3-4 hours.
Supervising solicitors can supervise as often or as little as they wish, although we would recommend at least one clinic appointment per academic term.Download Attachment
