The Bristol Pro Bono Network sets you a challenge:
Let’s Connect – Exchange – Build – throughout Bristol and the South West
HHJ Wildblood QC will be our keynote speaker with others to be confirmed.
We do pro bono – for the public good. Lawyers hold an immense wealth of knowledge which can be made available to benefit those who would otherwise be left without support and facing potential injustice or suffering.
Pro bono can bring benefits to firms too, such as awareness and a greater connection with their community, networking opportunities, development opportunities for trainees or junior staff, possible referral networks and…let’s not forget… that warm and satisfying feeling of doing good!
Bristol leads as a sustainable city with a profile of being ethical and socially aware. Bristol already shines a light for pro bono, free legal advice, support and good practice, despite resources being stretched. The need for free legal advice spreads throughout the South West and Bristol is the central focus in the region.
With a gentle push, we can harness the existing enthusiasm and assets and work together to develop more meaningful, reliable and consistent pathways of support for all.
Identify a need, connect and exchange offers of pro bono support at our evening marketplace with regional charities and advice agencies.
Observe and question the panel about how to build pro bono work, knock down barriers, increase coordination and collaboration of pro bono across the city and let’s reap the benefits this could bring for both clients and lawyers.
Full details of the event to be provided nearer the time.
If you are a charity or lawyer – send us your pro bono need or offer in advance and we will promote these on the evening.
Venue, drinks and refreshments kindly provided by DAC Beachcroft.
