Centre charities are experiencing high levels of telephone calls in the wake of the changes this week to legal aid.

LawWorks Cymru is delighted to announce that, with the appointment of its first two Project Officers, the project will officially start on April 10th 2013.

The Centre is delighted that over £100,000 has been pledged by gold, silver and bronze donors with the important support of the GC100, CLO Programme and Commercial Litigators Forum.  We are looking forward very much to thanking our generous sponsors at a reception in May when the new board will be unveiled.

The Bar Pro Bono Unit has been talking to stakeholders in the legal profession in Northern Ireland to help promote pro bono coordination there.

Mizan Abdulrouf is currently out in the British Virgin Islands on behalf of the Centre offering guidance on their plans to establish a facility for pro bono coordination.

It is now sixteen months since LawWorks, the Bar Pro Bono Unit and ILEX Pro Bono moved into their new home at the National Pro Bono Centre and twelve months since our official launch. We are delighted to report that development continues to go from strength to strength.

This report aims to build on our six month report, highlighting just some of the new opportunities and developments which have been possible since the move.
